Today marks one month since our first in person WPFC outreach event in years! We are so excited to be offering networking and educational events in person again and are already planning the next event.
Thank you to all who attended! We had over 80 registrants and over 70 people braved the winter storm to be with us in Stevens Point on 1-28-23.
Thank you to our Education and Outreach Committee and the UWSP Fire Crew board members for getting this event off the ground and all board and committee members who helped make things run smoothly.
Thank you to our members and all attendees! This event could not be a reality without you! Almost one third of our attendees were students, the next generation of prescribed fire practitioners. We hope everyone made a few connections, learned something new about prescribed fire, and had a little bit of fun!
Thank you to all our sponsors. We couldn’t have offered reduced student rates without your support. All of our sponsors are also members of the WPFC and are featured on our webpage. Be sure to check out these great fire practitioners: Good Oak Ecological Services, Quercus Land Stewardship Services, Heartland Ecological, and Native Resource Preservation!
Finally, a huge THANK YOU to all of our presenters, panelists, and moderators. Your knowledge and expertise are greatly appreciated.
Our wheels are already turning for next year’s event. We hope to combine our annual winter Council meeting with next year’s workshop to create a cohesive conference that will also allow for more networking opportunities. We are also working on a survey to send out for your feedback. Stay tuned!
