Do you collaborate with your neighbors to help each other burn? If so, you are eligible to register with the Wisconsin Prescribed Fire Council as a Prescribed Burn Association! These landowner-led organizations are a driving force in restoring and preserving Wisconsin’s fire-dependent ecosystems, and we are dedicated to growing and supporting them as they become more popular throughout the state.
Organizations who complete and submit the WPFC PBA Agreement will gain access to the following benefits:
- Free or discounted training opportunities
- Promotion through the WPFC to help recruit new members and volunteers
- Training burns bossed by WPFC staff
- Other technical services from WPFC staff such as mentoring and burn plan review
- Future benefits will include participation in the WPFC’s prescribed burn-specific insurance pool and 501(c)3 affiliation
