Course Information 

The certifications given by the spring 2022 wildland firefighter course meet current federal (NWCG) standards for the entry-level position in the American wildland fire service: Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2). The certifications given are S-130: Firefighter Training, S-190: Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior, L-180 Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service, IS-00100.c: Introduction to the Incident Command System, and IS-700.B An Introduction to the National Incident Management System. This course is presented in 40 hours in the classroom and in the field. Students must be at least 18 years old by the completion date of the course (March 6th, 2021) to enroll.

All students must need to complete IS-00100.c: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS-100) and IS-700.B An Introduction to the National Incident Management System prior to the first day of the course. These are short, free, self-study courses offered through FEMA. Please bring two copies of each training certificate to the first day of class.
