We are pleased to announce our new part time admin assistant hire, Andrea Weissgerber! Below is a little bit about Andrea.
My name is Andrea Weissgerber (you can also call me Andi) and I am the new admin assistant for the WPFC! I am thrilled to be a part of furthering the important work of this council and help get good, safe prescribed fire practices on the ground. I am an amiable Wisconsin girl who can wield a drip torch and is dedicated to the restoration and management of Wisconsin native ecosystems, especially wetlands, grasslands and oak savannas. In spring 2019, I graduated from UW-Madison with my Master of Science in Restoration Ecology. My thesis work examined white lady’s-slipper orchid (Cypripedium candidum) distribution, ecology and threats in the southeast glacial plains of Wisconsin. I want to work to find solutions to manage critical habitat through a balance of applied research, partner development, education, and citizen science. I am looking forward to working with and meeting new people through the council and learning new things!
